This article analyzes some problems related to the financing of political parties in the Czech Republic from the viewpoint of present legal situation and political practice. As for the forms of financing, it is necessary to distinguish the financing from state and private sources. There may be certain risks in this process, that come from an insufficiency in legal norms as well as from disproportions between large and small donors, which might lead to dependence of political parties to a limited number of strong sponsors. Also the control of this process is problematic and that may be potentially dangerous due to a significant role of political parties in the political system of the Czech Republic.
